Hearing Aid Repair
When To Repair Your Hearing Aid
If you are having trouble hearing, the reasons may be as simple as needing to clean your hearing aids or get a hearing aid repair. Your hearing device might just have a dirty membrane, or wax trap, which can be easily replaced, or perhaps there is a loose wire that needs to be
soldered back into place. Sometimes the battery may just need changing, although this is less common with newer models of hearing aids that use rechargeable batteries. Unless the problem with your
hearing aid seems obvious and simple such as needing a new battery or cleaning/repairing an outer part (IE; exterior shell), then you should probably make an appointment to see rather than attempting any repairs
yourself.
How Our Aid Repair Service Works
If your hearing aid is not working, we will try to repair it in our clinic. If we are unable to fix it, we will send it to the manufacturer for repair. We work with all major manufacturers, and if
your hearing aid is still in warranty, this service is free;
otherwise, the manufacturer will charge a fee for most repairs.
If the hearing aid cannot be repaired, it may need to be replaced. We recommend you replace your hearing aids every 3–5 years because hearing technology is constantly improving, and hearing aids that
worked well for years can become outdated. Replacing hearing aids requires an appointment with one of our audiologists for an updated hearing test.
