Prior to opening her practice in 1993, Dr. Brenner spent several years on staff at highly regarded medical centers including The University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and Philadelphia Elwyn. She received her clinical doctorate degree in Audiology from the University of Florida in 2001 and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology.
Dr. Brenner is licensed in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is certified by the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is Board Certified by the American Board of Audiology
She was quoted in a Cision PR Newswire article regarding a study on how hearing health contributes to relationship health, and overall well-being.
“People with hearing loss lack some important opportunities for human contact,” said Gail B. Brenner, AuD., Hearing Technology Associates LLC, Philadelphia, PA. “The consequences of this isolation can be the development of depression and increased anxiety, but also increasing mistrust of others. While the tendency for depression among people with untreated hearing loss is significantly higher, differences between people who use hearing aids and people who have no hearing loss are marginal. This shows that a hearing aid can support the prevention of depression for people who experience hearing difficulties.”
In 1993, Dr. Brenner established the Tinnitus & Sound Sensitivity Treatment Center of Philadelphia, PC due to the growing need for the evaluation and management of Tinnitus (ear/head noises) and for issues related to decreased tolerance to sound (DST).
Dr. Gail B. Brenner is a nationally and internationally recognized clinical professional in her field. She completed specialized training for Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) at the University of Maryland in Baltimore under the instruction of Dr. Pawel Jastreboff. She is the only specialist in the Philadelphia region offering the TRT protocol. In addition, she offers other modalities, as needed. Dr. Brenner has made a long-term commitment to the treatment of tinnitus and decreased sound tolerance by establishing the Tinnitus & Sound Sensitivity Treatment Center of Philadelphia, PC.
